Welcome

For anyone who stumbles across this page this is where I will blog my adventure while studying in China. I started this because when I started I knew nothing other than to show up at the university on September 10th.. This will be my third time abroad, I have already studied in France and Japan.
My goal is to share the adventure and hope that someone other than my family and girlfriend will read it or learn something from it. Please look, read and comment.

Baby Beluga

Is it just me or are these not the most beautiful creatures? They are like giant marshmellows of love swimming like butterflies under the ice. Ahh! when they sing, and swim and wow I feel all fuzzy inside. I miss seaworld now.

Why is it some people find it odd that I wake up thinking about Beluga's or other wonderfully beautiful fishies?

Honestly. Try saying Beluga and not smile. B-B-B-Beluuuga! It always makes you smile. Proof that the beluga was given to us to make us feel fuzzy warm and all over a general sense of sweetness!! AHH Beluga

Forgot to post

I forgot. over the weekend i went to the Zoo! It was fun. I have to be honest it was dismal. I enjoyed myself but i am rather worried about those creatures. Oh my word concrete cages, nasty green water, and people throwin food at the animals. Even the pandas I thought had subpar habitats. I did enjoy the bonsai tree garden. That was gorgous. there are plenty of pictures on the internet of it.

Scary Scary Scary

I have just learned that the government has added new rules. The US government is allowed to take anyone's laptop, mp3 player, phone or ANY device that can store information OR written material and hold it for some time while they scan it. !?!?!? Does this not upset anyone? When I come home the government has the right to take any of my gear and hold it for any time they want while they search through the data, send copies to any agency that is interested then send it back to me. Or just any book, note, doodle is open to be taken. Really?

They say it is for "security". Catch terrorist plans or child pornography. Bull. I do not like the idea that for any random reason they could take my information for weeks while they look for information. Also if it is about finding illegal material, DVD or MP3. I copy my dvd or music to computer how can you prove it is legal or not? you can't. Big Brother!!

This is an invasion of privacy. The policy does NOT REQUIRE probabal cause... So for ANY reason they can take my stuff and spend months searching through it. They can detain it for ANY length of time they see fit... i thought there was something in the constitution against that. Now i understand if the government wants to frisk me or go through my bags to find guns, bombs, weapons, fruit, poison etc. That is all stuff that is dangerous. To take my private information to see if there is anything of intrest??? NO.

It is not even checked there. they can ship it off to anywhere they want to have it checked.
I live on my laptop. what happens if they take it away for weeks? What happens if there is an accident? Data accidentaly gets lost.

Besides if a terrorist is going to bring plans of his deathstar or whatever evil plot would they really keep it on a hp laptop. probably some flash drive hidden in a belt buckle or other fancy device. this is not for security. this is done by lobbyist from the music companies trying to get back every little penny of "pirate" music or whatnot.

Guangzhou

So this is the national holiday. Kinda like our 4th of july,, but in china we get the whole week off. So i went off to Guangzhou to visit Snow. Guangzhou is almost as awsome as Snow is. She meet me at the train station and had arraged for a hotel for me to stay at. One of the best i have stayed at yet in china. wow how to describe this city? It is a cit with history, THE port city of china for apprently most of its history. It was the capitol of two dynasties. It was the opening to world as one of the few cities allowed to trade and accept western culture.

The city was clean, blue sky, clean air, and lots of friendly chinese. The city has a School Megaplex. by that i mean an ilsand with 10 universities on it. An island of solid universities. the only difference between them is the building color. You think college is fun? Imagine how much fun it would be with 10 UT's as one Giant campus.

The first day we did so much. We went to the old town, with lots of shops etc. It was much like the old town of San Diego except much older. Afterward we went out to for food and shopping Yes shopping is always fun with pretty girls! Except when you get lost in a mall. And when i mean lost i seriously mean lost. Not knowing if we are above or below ground, no idea which way is the exit or how to find stairs. We took a bicycle ride around the island. IT was nice except my pedal fell off the bicycle. That was a new experience.

The next day we went to the White Cloud Mountain. Amazing beautiful place. I love it! A big mountain where you can see the entire city. ook for pictures later on the website. Stil have so many to edit.

Afterward we went and ate. The next day we went to a famous park to see the five ram statue. The story of the city was what i saw on the tv cartoon. There was five rams, a cow, and other barn animals. Well they were all traveling together. well they came up on a scary ravine, the other animals ran away but the rams jumped across. The five rams continued and faced scary mountains, rain, and other troubles. but after much trouble and climing they got to the top and found paradise, or guangzhou.

So the last day we went to a park that had the statue. Wow it is amazing! A wonderfully made stone statue. the park is unbelievably pretty. Wow. Well the pictures do more than i ever could.
The city was amzing. Look for the photos!
