Welcome

For anyone who stumbles across this page this is where I will blog my adventure while studying in China. I started this because when I started I knew nothing other than to show up at the university on September 10th.. This will be my third time abroad, I have already studied in France and Japan.
My goal is to share the adventure and hope that someone other than my family and girlfriend will read it or learn something from it. Please look, read and comment.

What a Saturday

today was an awsome satruday. slept in real late. well i didnt go to sleep till 5 am i think. Or something close to that time frame. Slept till 1 in the afternoon. Watched some tv trying to find some friends to go play with. Afterall its a beautiful saturday afternoon in wuhan, what else would i do? Stay home and do homework? Ha! thats a last minuite project. Although that might explain my 65 on the grammer midterm. Which I am rather happy with! I could easily of made 10pts higher if I had not made the exact same silly mistake 4 times in a row... 50% of my mistakes i should of known better. The rest well... I deserved that. I just plain out forgot. Not that that hasn't happened before. But still...

Back to the story. Oh! So I ended up finding Vally was free. Thats right my number 1 gal pal vally! so I headed out to meet her. Well nothing exciting happened. Just a pretty bus ride down to her dorm. Pick her up and we set off. to where, well if you know me then you know I had no idea. Well Vally is a little too mmuch like me. which means everytime we go out we don't have a clue as to where we are going. we just start going.

But this is a good thing!! We started walking through the park and we found a bunch of highschoolers doing cosplay in the park. Yea its not just american highschool kids that want to be japanese! wow. So yea i got to dress up in what i assume was a bleach costume. It was fun! apparently i just missed the cosplay convention in the park. but i did get some phone numbers and now have a date for the next big thing. december 9th is a big cosplay event at thier highschool. BOYEA I am so wanting to go to that! A bunch of people dresssing up in costumes? FUN!

Then in the park we saw a bunch of people renting kites. But with no wind no kites. Otherwise I wanted to fly a kite. Vally said this is only for old men or little children. Apparently I don't fit in either catagory. When to Roni im an old man and to Alissa im just a child. Ha ha ha.

So what did Vally and I do you ask? Well we started walking talking about what we wanted to do. We stopped to pick up some french fries and fried yams. Awsome by the way, fried yams with a bit of cinnimon, or at least it taste like cinnimon. and we started walking to discuss what we wanted. The idea of a roller ring came up but she doesnt know how to skate. crane tower but it was too late in the day to go there. So east lake! well so we went to east lake. well actually we started walking east toward east lake. Then somehow we decided I was going to cook burritos for dinner. It was awsome goodness but that is for later.

The pictures on the right. In that bag are crabs and hedgehogs for sale on the street. Ive seen crabs, local crabs for dinner. Well alright i could understand that. But hedgehog? Why sell such a cute little pet when you are selling dinner? Well it was explained to me that the hedgehog is for dinner as well!!! Wow! I could'nt bring it home and kill it. Its not that it was fuzzy, i mean its a hedgehog its like the opposite of fuzzy but idk, those are a pet. But i would try it if it was on a menu. Meat is meat afterall.

WE did make it out to east lake. Some people fishing. looks like fun. A hook, line, and a long bamboo stick. nothing more complex that than. no reel, gadgets, fancy lures, depth finders. a long stick, string and worm... I like it.

Made it home, made some burritos. yea i am that awsome and it was good. except that the tortillas fell apart. they just tore. i need to buy some oil and try em next time. some tostadas.
so I had Vally, Serge, and Vally's friend Mayli for dinner. we had fun then watched mulan. YAY Mulan!!! Fun times. the went home and i posted this.
