So today I had my final exam. It was difficult to say the least. What else is to be expected? It was the big test. Of course I was not prepared. I am almost never prepared for an exam that is not biology. But this is life. I think we work for things we really want. Sadly Chinese is not one of them. It is just a requirement so sadly I don’t have the interest I should. But that beside there is more to life than test.
So this afternoon I went to go buy batteries and prepare to leave. It was not as difficult as I expected. But as always I always expect the worst. After all being who I am I must expect the worst because often times that is what I get.
The trip to the train was worse than the train ride it. An hour and half bus trip to the train station was uncomfortable and awkward. Uncomfortable only because it was crowded, hot, and well uncomfortable. Awkward because for some reason every time I end up an a very crowded bus I often end up face to face with a very very very gorgeous Chinese girl. And well in Chinese crowds you barely have room to look anywhere but strait. So being forced to look at someone face on can be awkward. It gets worse when the girl is so attractive you find yourself staring at the plain beauty.
No I still love alissa and don’t confuse or forget tthat. But I am still a boy and sadly the boyness in me kicks in and then it’s, does my breath smell? Better yet just don’t breath. Don’t stare, yes she is beautiful try to look away. Great looking strait up is much better. Now don’t try to steal a glance, because looking strait up then forward is not obvious at all….
I mean it’s that stupid man stare when we just watch/stare and think wow. Then someone says our name and we realize 130 seconds have gone by and we try to act as if nothing happened. Of course everyone can see us staring no matter how we try to shrug it off. Then I am left with hey I’m still right in front of her. Great now what? I just came off as a pig, I feel like dirt and still she is standing right in front of me. Stop staring, yes look at the boy. Stare at the boy beside you, better to be gay than a creep...
This is why busses can get awkward. The train was much nicer. I was expecting a train ride like I had from Guangzhou to Wuhan. But it was much nicer. It was a double-decker train. My seat was better than southwest airlines and 2x as much leg room, if not 3x as much. The seat reclined far back, the temperature was nice and it was relativity quiet, except for the obscure music, news and salesman.
I watched some movies, listened to some podcast and started some audio books. The 6 hour train ride went very fast. I saw mission impossible and space jam. I must admit that was the first time I saw mission impossible. I now want to talk about it but really who do I talk to?? Sad I know….
So we got to Zhengzhou and I am very much surprised and pleased. The city is a real city except we can see the stars, moon and sky. Sooo nice!! Louis’s friend came to meet us and we went to his house. Then we went downstairs to eat.
Afterward was a long talk with his father or as I am instructed to call him uncle. We smoked cigarettes; I could only stomach one honestly. I must admit I thought we were loud and afraid to awake the sister or mother but I guess it was/is not a problem. Manners are different. I was told that using a bathroom is ok but if you must do #2 you use the public toilets. This is Chinese manners. I was told this is because Chinese like clean homes. I understand what was explained to me but why totally escapes me. So I will accept this as Chinese custom and not try to understand.
So tonight we talked with my new uncle and friend. We talked about an interesting device. I gather my uncle works in A/C because he asks if a machine that creates its own electricity to work would be popular. But it is explained that this machine makes electricity, not converts it. So if he has discovered a way to bend the laws of physics I may be looking at the world’s soon to be richest man. We also talked about job opportunities for surgeons, A/C repair men and how much it cost to start a business in America.
I tried to answer to the best of my ability but sadly I don’t know a lot about A/C systems and about business law.
So now my friends are playing street fighter or a Chinese version, (same characters but they change the name slightly). I think I will sleep because well I’m a wuss. Good night good night.
